Atomsondentomographie & 3D-Nanoanalytik
In Prof. Felfers Team werden neue Prozessmethoden entwickelt und durch tiefgreifende Charakterisierung das Verständnis von industriell relevanten Werkstoffen verbessert. Der Fokus liegt dabei auf der Weiterentwicklung von Geräten, aber auch der Technik und der Methodik der Materialuntersuchungen. Mit unserer Expertise in Atomsondentomographie (APT), rechnerunterstütztes Konstruieren (CAD), Feldionen Mikroskop (FIM), fokussierter ionen Strahl in Kombination mit einem Rasterelektronenmikroskop (FIB/SEM) und 3D Druck im Extrusionsverfahren untersuchen wir eine Vielzahl von Themen und Materialklassen, die für die Bereiche Automobil, Energie, Geowissenschaften und Luft- und Raumfahrt wichtig sind. Wenn eine Forschungsfrage mit den derzeitigen Charakterisierungsmöglichkeiten nicht beantwortet werden kann, werden speziell hierfür neue Anlagebauteile, Teststationen, Transfersysteme oder auch ein ganzes Mikroskop konzipiert und aufgebaut. Die Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen auf der Wasserstoffversprödung, Analyse von Nanopartikeln mittels FIM, kosteneffektives 3D Drucken von Metallen und Charakterisierung von Werkstoffen für die Energietechnologien (z.B. Brennstoffzellen, neue Katalysatormaterialien).
